Just 32 weeks from commencing construction (4th October 2010), Gazeley has completed work on an 74,000 m² (796,649 ft²) logistics distribution centre for B&Q, an impressive six weeks ahead of schedule.
The facility will service the company’s DIY and home stores across the South of England, and once fully operational will create 550 jobs for the local community.
This project is the largest unit at G.Park Swindon, and the site can accommodate further bespoke buildings up to 40,400 m² (435,000 ft²).
Nigel Godfrey, Senior Vice President at Gazeley said: “This project has been a key development for Gazeley and to complete something of this size so far ahead of our commitment to our customer is a huge achievement. B&Q are naturally delighted and I believe this further cements our position as the industry’s leading build-to-suit developer.”
